We usually say around 10-16 weeks, from place of order to delivery. However, if the chair / seating is very technical it could take longer. Likewise, if the chair is standard, it could come out much quicker.
**Lead times do vary, depending on the manufacturer**Â (updated January 2024)
Can the powerchairs be fitted with other types of seating?
Yes, the chairs are compatible with any other seating system. The base would come with an interface plate, designed to take your desired seating & canes for your desired back rest. You must arrange this independently, but we can work with the seating companies to ensure they have the right details.
Are the powerchairs road legal?
Yes, they are a class 3, road legal vehicle. In order to drive them on the road, you must apply for road tax, which is free.
Can you drive from the powerchairs?
It is possible to drive from the Frontier V6, V4, The Magic 360, The Dietz Sango Advanced, The Q700 & The Q300.
You can opt for a retractable docking pin. It isn’t possible to drive from the X8 though.Â
All chairs are crash tested & come with tie down points, so all can be used as a seat within a vehicle.
Will the powerchair fit in my car?
The chairs will usually fit within a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV), a van, or with the backrest removed may fit into the boot of a larger estate car (with the back seats folded forward). It is always advisable to check the dimensions of both the chair & the vehicle & during a demonstration you are welcome to try this out.
How do I get the powerchair in my car?
Many people opt for a ramp into the rear of a WAV. Some people do have hoists to lift the chairs in. We recommend a hoist capable of carrying a minimum weight of 200kg.
What is the weight of the powerchair?
This can vary, dependant on the final specification of the chair. ie: more power features will add more weight. However, the approx. weight is:
V4 from 125kg to 160kg
V6 from 140kg to 175kg
X8 from 150kg to 190kg
360 from 140kg to 175kg
Dietz Sango Advanced TBC
Q700 TBC
Q300 TBC
Q50R Carbon TBC
How long will the batteries last for?
Dependant on use, they should last between 2 & 4 years. The batteries are Cyclic Batteries, which means they like to be cycled. So preferably used everyday & FULLY charged everyday. If left for long periods unused, the batteries will quickly deteriorate.
How far will I get in my chair?
The X8 up to 12 miles.
The V6/V4 up to 15 miles.
The 360 up to 15 miles.
The Dietz Sango Advanced up toÂ
The Q700 up to
The Q300M up to
The Q50R Carbon up to
This is also dependant on use & on the user weight. Long periods on high speed, or up steep hills will use more power, therefore achieving a shorter distance.
